Hurricanes Announce New Head Coach

The Guelph Hurricanes Junior Hockey Club are pleased to announce the appointment of Kyle Campbell to the position of Head Coach, effective April 28, 2012. Kyle is currently in the process of hiring his coaching staff for the 2012-2013 season, and we will announce those appointments shortly.

 Kyle was raised and played all of his minor hockey in Guelph, and began his Junior career at age 16, where he spent 4 seasons with the hometown Dominators.  Kyle held a number of club records for many years, some of which include, most points in one season as a defenseman as well as most goals for a defensemen during his career.  Kyle finished his Junior Career with Junior C Chippawa River Hawks where he led all defensemen in total points and finished 4^th in total team scoring.

 Kyle’s coaching career began in 2002 where he coached the Junior Boys hockey program at GCVI, before becoming the Head Coach of senior team in 2003.  In 2007 Kyle became a part time coach with the Kitchener Dutchmen.

In 2008 Kyle was hired by the Elmira Sugar Kings, where he spent the next four years as an Assistant Coach, which included a Cherrey Cup and Sutherland Cup Championship during the 2010-2011 season.

Kyle has also helped develop a number of players to move onto careers in the OHL, CIS and BCJHL.

Kyle currently resides in Guelph, and works full-time at Task Force Staffing Solutions as an Account Executive.
